Day 1 – Arrival to Johannesburg

Private tour from JNB O.R. Tambo International Airport

Sawubona! Welcome to South Africa! Your adventure starts today as you step foot into Johannesburg. No need to deal with taxis or car rentals, we’ll arrange for a private shuttle that will take you to the hotel in no time. Once settled, you’ll get to know the tour team and have the rest of the afternoon to decompress. In the evening, we’ll enjoy an appetizing dinner at a local restaurant as we go over the tour briefing. Your South African escapade is about to begin!

Tipping: You can tip your driver. Rands are preferred but tipping in USD is possible as well.

Day 2 - Explore Johannesburg - The City of Gold

Explore the City of Gold

Get to know what makes this dynamic city unforgettable; it’s time to walk through Johannesburg like a local. Explore the lively markets, sip on local coffee, and feel the vibe of this worldly city ready for new beginnings.

Get to know Jo’burg

Johannesburg, affectionately known as “Jo’burg,” is a city with so much to offer. Walk through the bohemian Melrose Village, taste scrumptious dishes by novel chefs with a visit to Greenside, and explore the impressive financial district of this growing city. For those looking for local friends, have a coffee at one of the plentiful cafes and strike up conversation with the friendly patrons.

Day 3 - Tour of the Soweto Township

Soweto Township

Explore these residential clusters initially designed during Apartheid that are now buzzing communities. Walk through the Mandela Family Museum, which was formerly the childhood home of Nelson Mandela. Sit at a shebeen (traditional tavern) and then visit the Regina Mundi Catholic Church, the largest in the Southern hemisphere, where you can still see one of the few Black Madonnas in the world.

Day 4 - Visit to Old Fort Prison

Visit to Old Fort Prison

Discover the country’s convoluted past as you tour Old Fort prison. This centennial building served different regimes and was later used during apartheid years. Within these walls, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Albertina Sisulu, Fatima Meer, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and many others were imprisoned for years.

The prison is presently a museum that tells the story of South Africa’s journey to democracy. We’ll walk through these heavy walls and have a glimpse of what life there was like

Day 5 - Full Day Safari

We’ll set out on a game drive to see authentic African wildlife in their natural habitat. Alongside our expert game rangers, this trip will let you get face-to-paw with breathtaking creatures like lions, elephants and zebras. Feel the thrill as we navigate the African bush and get lost in the sights, sounds and smells of these natural wonders.

Day 6 - Cape Town

Pick up at hotel and airport transfer

Have a hot breakfast buffet at your hotel for the last time. Enjoy a mellow morning before taking a private transfer that will get you to the airport.

Once at JNB O.R. Tambo International Airport, you’ll board a domestic flight to your next destination: Cape Town awaits!

Upon arrival at the Mother City, your driver will be waiting for you at Arrivals. A private transport will take you to your luxury accommodation in Cape Town.

Stay in the heart of the city, barely 1.5 mi/2.5 km from the breathtaking Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.

Day 7 - Table Mountain

Tour Nelson Mandela’s prison

Walk through Robben Island prison, where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for 18 years. This UNESCO World Heritage Site commemorates part of humanity’s most atrocious past, but also the possibility of redemption.

The current museum is a great way to get to know South Africa’s quest for democracy and appreciate the natural beauty of this country.

 

Victoria & Alfred waterfront

Stroll through this local hotspot that’s a must-see for new visitors. A lively harbor with exciting architecture and incredible views, there are plenty of cafes, bars and shops to keep you busy for days.

Stop by a neighborhood restaurant for lunch and stick around for a delicious dinner after a day of sightseeing.

Day 8- Cape of Good Hope

After yesterday’s solemness, it’s time to delight in vibrant views and luscious landscapes. Today we’ll visit two of South Africa’s key spots in the Peninsula, and you’ll get to know first-hand the spectacular sights that locals have been enjoying for centuries. Watch a native penguin colony in the wild, see where the Atlantic and Indian Ocean meet, and marvel at South Africa’s pristine beaches and raw coastlines.

 

Day 9 - Winelands Tour

Winelands Tour with Tasting & Lunch – Seven Sisters Winery

Following a hearty breakfast, you’ll get a quick Covid-19 test. This is required to depart the country and will be a fast process at a drive-through facility. Remember to bring your passport with you!

Day 10 - Return to Jo'Burg

Breakfast at your hotel and airport transfer

After a filling breakfast, it’s time to pick up your bags and take a car to the airport. A driver will take you to Cape Town International Airport where you’ll be able to fly back to Johannesburg or continue your travels. Because you already have your negative Covid-19 test results, you’ll be able to get on your flight out of Johannesburg without any issues.
